About Me

Daniela Somary – / Equine Gestaltist

As a trauma-informed coach, my goal is to help individuals affected by burnout, depression and anxiety as well as their manifestations in the physical body, to find their individual path to joy, wholeness and authenticity in a safe and judgement-free environment.

I am open to all clients’ concerns, no diagnosis needed. Often enough, living life is the diagnosis.

We live in an increasingly complex world, confronted with social, environmental, financial, and political insecurities while navigating our personal lives. Confusion and overwhelming experiences are part of this lifestyle.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been awe-struck by the presence of horses. I thought they were smarter, braver, more beautiful, and majestic than any human could ever be. A multitude of circumstances prevented me from connecting with these otherworldly creatures at a younger age. So, I focused on dreaming about a life surrounded by nature, animals and an environment of tranquility and joy.

Fast forward: After graduating with a degree in Film & Television, Comparative Literature and Theatre in 2004, my search for my soul home led me to leave my life in Europe behind for a new beginning on a different continent. I moved to New York City to start an internship in cultural management. The struggle was much more real than I could have expected, but enthusiasm and a sense of newfound freedom kept me going through the tumultuous years following this decision. My professional path was governed by necessities. After several years in the service industry, I worked in arts management and the not-for-profit world, followed by academic publishing, pharmaceutical, and ultimately the financial industry. Finding myself working in a C-Suite team, I could not have been further from my childhood dream.

In my thirties, led by my deep love and curiosity, I had finally discovered ways to spend time around horses. Thereby, for a couple of hours on weekends, I forgot about the incongruence between my professional environment (that had my soul starving) and my personal values and priorities at the barn – not only by taking lessons, but by focusing on grooming, barn chores and being present with horses. I felt complete in these moments, and I started dreaming again. Dreaming about a life beyond mere survival – one filled with a sense of peace and belonging, and often feeling at a loss for words for how to describe the impact of my weekend escapes.

Integrating horse-centric time into my schedule gave me hope propelling me through various fundamental challenges in my personal and professional life.

Partnering with horses was the key to finding my personal authentic truth.

The scientifically proven EGC method provideded me with a methodology to guide my clients to clarity and truth through the healing power of horses. Going through the multi-faceted training at Touched by a Horse® over the last couple of years to become an Equine Gestaltist™ saved my spirit and brought my dreams to reality. I am passionate about sharing this experience with my clients.
